In 1977, everything changed when Anita and Clemente made the difficult decision to leave their children temporarily and migrate to Seattle, Washington, in pursuit of the American Dream. Their children—Delia, Leticia, Lidia, Hector, and Sergio—eventually joined them.
After establishing a successful restaurant in downtown Puyallup, the children followed their parents to the United States. At first, they spoke no English and were placed in schools where they could only rely on their Spanish-speaking background. However, they quickly adapted and began learning English. As they grew older, each of them contributed to the development of the family’s Mexican restaurant. They took on various roles, from hostess to dishwasher, busboy to server, cook to bartender, learning every aspect of the business.
